Inter Miami CF today announced the groundbreaking of Miami Freedom Park, a state-of-the-art soccer-specific stadium and entertainment complex that will become a major recreation destination for Miami and beyond. The 58-acre development, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will feature a 25,000-seat stadium, training facilities for Inter Miami CF, public parks, restaurants, and more. "We are excited to begin construction on Miami Freedom Park, which will be a world-class destination for soccer fans and the entire community," said Inter Miami CF Managing Owner Jorge Mas. "This project will create jobs, boost the local economy, and provide a place for people to come together and enjoy the beautiful game." Miami Freedom Park will be built on the site of the former Lockhart Stadium, which was demolished in 2021. The new stadium will feature a canopy roof to protect fans from the sun and rain, as well as a state-of-the-art video board and sound system. The training facilities will include 12 full-size soccer fields, a fitness center, and a recovery center. In addition to the stadium and training facilities, Miami Freedom Park will also include 58 acres of public parks. These parks will feature walking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and open space for recreation. The park will also be home to a public art installation that will celebrate the history and culture of Miami. "We believe that Miami Freedom Park will be a transformative project for our community," said Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis. "This project will create jobs, boost the local economy, and provide a place for people to come together and enjoy the beautiful game. We are excited to work with Inter Miami CF to make this project a reality." Construction on Miami Freedom Park is expected to be completed in 2025. The stadium will be the home to Inter Miami CF, which currently plays its home matches at DRV PNK Stadium. The team will move to Miami Freedom Park once the stadium is completed. Miami Freedom Park is a major investment in the future of Miami. The project will create jobs, boost the local economy, and provide a place for people to come together and enjoy the beautiful game.
