An FI(S) certificate holder shall only exercise the privileges of his or her certificate if before the end of the seventh month preceding the month of expiry, he or she has revalidated his or her FIS certificate in accordance with Chapter II, Part-SFA of Annex IX (Part-SFA).

B

An FI(S) certificate holder whose FIS certificate has expired may, where the relevant AMC is not applied, extend the validity of the certificate for up to 6 months after the expiry date by revalidating the FIS certificate within this 6-month period as specified in AMC1 SFCL360.(a)(1).

DEMONSTRATION OF ABILITY TO INSTRUCT

a) The aim of revalidation is to verify the instructor's continuing ability to instruct effectively in accordance with the privileges granted by the FIS certificate and Annex IX (Part-SFA).

b) In order to maintain instructor privileges point SFCL360a1i requires FIS certificate holders to complete instructor refresher training once in 3 years.
