Ireland have beaten South Africa 13-8 in Paris, taking control of Pool B at the Rugby World Cup. Ireland scored the only try of the match through Rob Kearney in the first half, and Johnny Sexton added two penalties.

South Africa responded with two penalties from Handre Pollard, but Ireland held on for a hard-fought victory.

The win sees Ireland move top of Pool B, with South Africa now in second place. Ireland will face Scotland in their next match, while South Africa will play Japan.
